Mar del Plata

Mar del Plata city is located in the southeast of Buenos Aires province, at a distance of 400 km from Buenos Aires city. It is the most important destination for summer holidays in Argentina. In addition to attractive beaches, Mar del Plata offers diverse options regarding arts, culture and entertainment. Such options include numerous theatre plays during the summer season, an International Film Festival, jazz festivals and the recently inaugurated Museum of Contemporary Art (MAR). With a permanent population of over 600,000, Mar del Plata has an important infrastructure for services and tourism that makes it an ideal venue for international meetings. The climate is temperate oceanic, with hot summers and cold winters. During October, the weather is mild (average 14°C) with cool nights.

Transport to Mar del Plata

Car: the city is connected to Buenos Aires through a modern highway (Ruta Nacional 2). You can get there from the capital city in 5 hours. There are tolls. Other highways that connect Mar del Plata are RN 226 and RN 8.

Bus: it is the main access to the city used by tourists. Many bus companies connect the city with all destinations in the country. You can get there from the capital in 6 hours.

Air: the city counts with an airport to which there are two diary flights from Buenos Aires managed by Aerolíneas Argentinas. The flight takes 40 minutes.
